Canoe Mississippi is a project of the Okatoma Paddling Club. Our purpose is to promote canoeing and kayaking across the State of Mississippi. This site was launched just before the 2012 boating season and we plan to jump right in and "squoooosh the mud between our toes"...in other words, we plan to start this year organizing day floats and camping floats. Since all of our prior events have been held on Okatoma Creek, we really need some new volunteers that are familiar with other rivers and creeks. We would love to get canoe rental businesses involved in planning and, of course, we *love* group discounts! |

Mark your calendars...we are already making plans for this year's Annual Okatoma Paddling Club Camping Float. The event will take place the weekend of July 20-22 at the Seminary Canoe Rental facility on Okatoma Creek. Of course, you don't have to spend the whole weekend but it will be fun. We are trying to talk the owner into booking a band at the pavilion for Saturday night. The facility offers four cabins. so book early. There are plenty of primitive camping sites if you want to get away from the A/C for a weekend! More updates to come...

Paddling.net has listed Canoe Mississippi on their lists of Paddling Associations. Clubs are common in most states but apparently we are the only club in Mississippi.
So what are you waiting for...sign up today and get connected with other canoe and kayak enthusiasts in this state. We have big plans and want you to be a part of it.

Be the first to check out Creek Freek Jen's new t-shirt designs: Click Here. She has designed a female line of t-shirts for Muddy Creek Designs and just finished some male designs under the "Creek Freek" moniker. She is only wholesaling them at the moment but plans to retail them in an online store soon. Her website is a hoot...be sure to check it out...old vintage creek stuff...got to love it! BTW, we posted a lot of photos from our past Okatoma Floats. You can view them under the new main menu category "Photo Gallery."
